First Review: Carrera Calibre 1887 43mm

Perhaps the least interesting aspect of the new TAG Heuer Carrera 1887 43mm is the most obvious: yes, the watch is 2mm larger in diameter than the standard (41mm) Carrera 1887 that we’ve come to know and love, but the new “plus-size” model is far more than just a larger version of what’s come before.

Review: Carrera 1887 Rose Gold & Anthracite

While the Carrera 1887 has been one of TAG Heuer’s most popular watches since its introduction in 2010, the number of choices in the range has been somewhat constrained (“would Sir prefer a black or white dial?”), largely due to the limited availability of the Calibre 1887. Now that movement production has expanded, we are starting to see more Carreras with the 1887 movement including this one- the TAG Heuer Carrera 1887 Rose Gold (Ref. CAR2141).

Before the Ambassadors: Heuer & Formula 1

David’s recent article on Ayrton Senna’s watches made me look again at some of the drivers who wore Heuer watches during what many vintage collectors consider Heuer’s “Golden Era” of the 60s and 70s.
