Read all Calibre 11 articles featuring the TAG Heuer 1000 Professional on this page. The 1000 was the first of the dedicated TAG Heuer dive watches and established a design template that would appear on the entire TAG Heuer range throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

The TAG Heuer 1000 series was discontinued in 1990/ 1991, to be replaced by the 1500-Series

The 1000 was available with a range of ETA quartz movements, with a rare automatic version also being available.

James Bond and TAG Heuer: The Living Daylights

While today you might associated James Bond with Omega watches, here is something you may not know: Before Bond strapped on his Seamaster he wore a TAG Heuer in the 1987 James Bond movie The Living Daylights.

Sometimes watch companies must wonder what the secret is to a developing a successful new model. Watches that are lovingly developed by the world’s most powerful luxury goods company and backed by history and large marketing budgets can sometimes fail to catch fire (such as the Autavia), yet others that are developed as side projects can turn into hugely popular models that enjoy success over more than a decade.
