Just wanted to jump in and share my new SLR 300 purchase on January 5, 2012. No. 2800/5000, bought from the airport in Grand Cayman, a beautiful time piece! I thought that my watch might have an issue since it was losing around 3 seconds over 24-36 hours (comparing with a digital clock and had matched the seconds exactly to it), but upon reading above it seems that is expected and mine might even be more accurate than some others which are losing up to 7 seconds a day. Thanks for the information and this review site!

Hi guys,
Great review! Just purchased one a while back. This is my first serious automatic watch. I understand that most automatic movements will make an audible noise when in motion, but I wonder if an intermittent sound of a "ball bearing"-like noise when in motion is the norm? (Accuracy is okay).

Cheers,
Andre

As a general rule I find that most watches lose 40% the minute you leave the store and the SLR is not limited enough to change that much.

As an example the SLR 1887's (only one left now) at the TH Melbourne boutique are priced at $6100 ......we get ripped off on everything in Australia but the resale values are still relevant. Recent sales of well looked after watches around one year old have been seen at $3500-$4000. For the extra $2000+ to buy new you might get an invite to a Tag function at the Grand Prix LOL.

Cheers
