There’s a new, larger Aquaracer to join the 300m Ceramic Bezel range for 2016. While the Calibre 5 3-hand watch has traditionally been 41mm, the Calibre 16 Chronograph has clocked in at a larger 43mm. However those distinctions are eliminated with the new 43mm Calibre 5 watch, which will be sold alongside its smaller brother.
What are the differences other than the size of the two Calibre 5 models, well as you can see below, not much:
- 2015 model has old TAG Heuer logo (expect this to be updated for 2016 41mm)
- Smaller crown on 43mm model
- Perhaps a silver rehaut, or flange on the 43mm (we’ll need to see this one in person to be sure)
- Oh, and the “300m/ 1000 ft) text is now yellow rather than white
The 43mm Calibre 5 is available with two dial options
WAY201A- 43mm Black Dial/ Bezel
WAY201B- 43mm Blue Dial/ Bezel
The only other change to note with the Blue dial model is that the “Calibre 5; 300m/ 1000ft” text is now Yellow, rather than the original Orange on the 2015 Calibre 5 Aquaracer.
Caseback
No changes back here either- it’s the traditional Aquaracer diving helmet.
New Rubber Strap Design
While the 41mm Calibre 5 introduced some fantastic Nylon strap options, there is a new rubber strap for 2016 which is available on both the 41mm and 43mm models. The strap (Ref. FT6069) integrates nicely to the case and is a new design for the Aquaracer range.
