While TAG Heuer is slated to launch the key models in its 2021 collection at Watches and Wonders from 7 April, we are starting to see some new watches begin to arrive at Authorised Dealers- starting with this duo of citrus Formula 1 Chronographs.
Both watches use the same stainless steel 43mm case and quartz chronograph movement and bring a little colour back to the Formula 1 range.
Formula 1 Chronograph- CAZ1010AG
The first of the new models uses an anthracite dial, with a similar asphalt-effect dial as the Porsche Edition Carrera that we showed you last week. The watch has bright yellow-lime highlights on the applied hour-markers, sub-dial rings, hands, and tachymetre bezel. The colour scheme is reminiscent of the 2020 Ayrton Senna Formula 1. In a break from the anthracite and yellow-lime colour combination, the dial features a black chapter ring with blue minute markers.
The watch features black PVD- coated chronograph pushers and crown, which provides a nice contrast to the steel case.
The black nylon strap is new for 2021- with the first two rows of stitching in matching yellow-lime and the rest of the stitching in a grey-blue.
Formula 1 Chronograph- CAZ1010AH
The second model offers Orange highlights in place of yellow- again with a black chapter ring with blue minute markers. The Orange model is only available with a stainless-steel bracelet…there is no nylon strap for this model.
As with all quartz Formula 1 Chronographs, the date wheel sits at 4 o’clock, a placement necessitated by the design of the other three registers.
2021 TAG Heuer Formula 1 43m Chronograph- Price and Availability
We love seeing splashes of colour back in the Formula 1 range, with Orange and Yellow models being part of the F1 colour palette since the original series back in 1986.
At this stage we only have UK prices for the new models:
- CAZ101AG (nylon strap)- £1,550
- CAZ101AH (steel bracelet)- £1,650
Both watches are now in stock at TAG Heuer authorised dealers.
