The Carrera Heuer-02t Tourbillon range continues to expand with another new case material being offered- this time, it’s CMC, which is TAG Heuer speak for Carbon Matrix Composite. The dial itself is the same as the “standard” Heuer-02t tourbillon- to the extent that any tourbillon can be called standard- with the CMC components being the lugs and the bezel. The centre case is made from Grade 5 brushed titanium, with the size coming it at 45mm.
That’s the reason why TAG Heuer has been able to keep the price pretty much in line with the standard Heuer-02T, with a full CMC case being far more expensive to produce.
At this stage, the CMC Tourbillon is available only with a single strap option- the black rubber strap that you see in these photos, although it wouldn’t be a surprise if between now and when the watch goes on sale, that is swapped for the leather/ rubber hybrid that is offered on the standard model.
This is the third TAG Heuer watch to feature CMC, following on from the Bullhead Carrera 1887 and the Monaco V4 Phantom.
